My Story
I'm Jocelyn Thompson, a qualified counsellor based in Palmerston, NT. My journey into counselling grew from a deep belief that every person — no matter what they're facing — holds within them the capacity for hope, growth, and resilience.
Living and working in the Northern Territory, I've had the privilege of walking alongside people from all walks of life — individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions; couples working to rebuild connection; families finding new ways to communicate; and those carrying the weight of grief and trauma.
I founded Yes2Life Counselling Services with a simple but powerful vision: to create a warm, safe space where people feel truly heard, and where real, lasting change becomes possible. The name says it all — saying yes to life, even when life feels hard.

How I Work
I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities, tailoring each session to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances — because no two people's journeys are the same.
What I Stand For
These values aren't just words on a wall — they shape every session, every conversation, and every decision I make as your counsellor.
Every person who walks through our door is met with genuine warmth, empathy, and unconditional positive regard — no judgement, ever.
We believe that no matter how dark things feel, there is always a path forward. Our work is grounded in the belief that change is possible.
We help you discover and strengthen the inner resources you already carry — building lasting resilience for life's challenges.
Healing happens in relationship. We foster a safe, trusting therapeutic alliance where you feel truly heard and understood.
Our approach draws on proven, research-backed therapies tailored to your unique needs — not a one-size-fits-all model.
We uphold the highest ethical standards of the counselling profession, maintaining confidentiality, honesty, and professional accountability.
Reaching out is the bravest thing you can do. I'm here to walk alongside you — at your pace, on your terms.
